The Schoolhouse

Sleeps seven (plus four in cabin).
Situated on high ground with stunning views accross the bay to the villages and mountains of the mainland, and a bird's eye view of any action in the bay. The largest house on the Island, this was indeed the school until the early 20th Century, when Tanera was home to more than twenty families.
 

Step out of the front door onto a grassy lawn (where heath spotted orchids grow in summer) and enjoy meals at a picnic bench with incredible views. Access is a steep but easy 10 minute walk from the pier (your luggage will be transported by quad bike).


Ground Floor: A large kitchen with gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, dining area, oil-fired Raeburn, and large wooden table. Spacious sitting room with wood-burning stove and views over the bay, the Coigach peninsula and the North West Highlands. Toilet and back-room with plenty of space for drying outdoor gear.

First Floor: Comprises one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, and one triple bedroom (three single beds). There is a bathroom with bath, was-basin and toilet, and shower room with shower, was-basin and toilet. All rooms enjoy wonderful views over the bay and to the hills of Coigach beyond.

Cabin behind house: Optional additional accommodation, consisting of two rooms each with a bunk-bed, plus a toilet and wash hand basin. Almost adjoining the house; large umbrellas provided! Available at an additional cost of; £12.50 per bunk per night, with a minimum charge of £50.
