Our spirits lift each time we are picked up from the mainland by the brightly coloured boat Patricia and transported to magical Tanera Mor. Swimming, Otter spotting, kayaking and picnicking on coraline beaches, climbing mountains or investigating sea caves and viking burial grounds - we can't believe it's Britain. We're itching to come back, any time of year.
